Gift AidOn the sponsorship form I'm asked to tick a box to add Gift Aid. What does this mean? Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows charities to claim back tax on donations. Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go even further. So £10 becomes £12.80. £20 becomes £25.60. Imagine the difference this can make - and it doesn't cost you a thing! All you need to do is tick the box on the form. To qualify for Gift Aid, the income tax or capital gains tax you pay for this tax year must be at least as much as the amount we claim back from the Inland Revenue - so nearly all tax payers will qualify.
To find out more about Gift Aid, visit the Inland Revenue website.
All monies will be handled via Compassion and Care International, |
